Alice brings more than 15 years of experience supporting small businesses through bookkeeping, accounting operations, and financial reporting.

Her journey began in her brother's coffee roasting business in Billerica, Massachusetts, where she experienced firsthand the challenges many founders face in managing their finances while growing a business.

After transforming the company's accounting systems and financial reporting, she launched her own consulting practice to help other business owners gain the financial clarity they need to grow with confidence.

After more than 25 years working across PwC, Bain Capital, and finance and operations leadership roles in the United States and Africa, Peter helped establish IKAN around a simple idea: growing businesses need reliable financial support, and exceptional financial talent should not be limited by geography.

Through his work as CEO of Cavendish Africa, he saw firsthand the depth of accounting and finance professionals across Africa and the opportunity to connect that talent with growing businesses around the world.

The Entrepreneurial Battle

In 2006, Peter established a coffee roasting business in Billerica, Masschusetts. Despite being a CPA, having an MBA from Babson College and 8 years of accounting experience, he struggled to build the business and maintain the books. He reached out to his sister, Alice.

Alice stepped in and transformed Chaos into clarity. She didn't just do bookkeeping; she simplified the financial and business operations by integrating QuickBooks with the merchant and banking system and prepared timey financial reports, enabling Peter to focus on the business.

After spending 10 years in Africa building Cavendish Africa to provide transformative higher education, Peter approached Alice, who had been running her accounting consulting practice for 15 years with an idea. Alice could not keep up with the demand for accounting services for growing businesses. Cavendish graduates were talented, but professional opportunities were limited. Why not establish a firm to solve both problems - provide accounting support to growing business while creating professional opportunities for talented finance professionals developed through Cavendish.
